Most people donate between US$30 and US$50, and many have been a lot higher (the current record is $250). The great advantage of donations is that they give you the chance to decide how much support you wish to give GTDInbox, based on the value you derive from it, and how much you want to help it continue.

What your donation will enable

Your donation is used in several ways to support GTDInbox's future:

  • Faster Development

    GTDInbox - while largely the product of ProductiveFirefox's inhouse development - is open source and utilises contractors for specific skills. A healthy income keeps inhouse development going, affords better management of the open source initiative (educate & assist developers, set road maps, quality assurance, etc.), and keeps funds in the kitty to bring in outside expertise.

    GTDInbox has very solid foundations, and great potential to improve productivity within email. Your continued support will make this happen.

In addition to donations, GTDInbox really benefits from simple word of mouth. If you like it, please tell your friends, blog about it, Twitter it, put it on Facebook... whatever you feel like - the more the merrier!

Why Go Pro?

We're building towards a 'plugin' system in 2009, which is very exciting for us. It will enable us to do innovative new apps, and for people to pick and choose only the bits they want to use. So, we will have the (free) base of GTDInbox as it is now, and then lots of high-value functionality available from the Store.

We need money to make that happen as professionally as it should do, so we accept donations. The deal is, whatever you donate will be worth 1.2x as much in credit against the plugins; as well as the great and very real sense that your donation was key to making the new features happen.

The donations will close prior to the first plugin being released (in April), after which time there will be no more freebies! So your support is appreciated right now.

And, and the other benefit? Donators receive an email that grants them access to new alphas that we put out. Sneak previews! :)
